SPARKS, Md. – Molly Little and
Brittany Read teamed up in Week 1 of the Athletes Unlimited women's lacrosse league and led Team Purple to a 2-1 record last week.

Captaining the team for the first week of competition, Read was the goalkeeper for each of the three games and stopped nine shots in a 12-8 win on Thursday versus Team Waters/Gold, 11 saves in a 12-5 loss to Team Apuzzo/Orange on Saturday and seven saves in a 10-9 overtime victory against Team Glynn/Blue on Sunday.

Read, an assistant coach at Denver, ranks 15th on the leaderboard with 343 points after earning two wins and making 27 stops over the three games.

Little, a DU volunteer assistant and 2021 alum, totaled 162 points after Week 1 with three caused turnovers, one ground ball and one draw control. The defender forced two turnovers and picked up a ground ball in Thursday's victory versus Team Waters.

The two Pioneers will be on different teams for Week 2, as Read was drafted on Monday by Amanda Johansen and Team Orange while Little was chosen by Taylor Moreno and Team Gold.
