DENVER – University of Denver redshirt senior Nerea Arrazola was named the TicketSmarter Summit League Defensive Peak Performer of the Week for Week 1, the league announced on Monday.
 
The Issaquah, Washington, native helped lead Denver to back-to-back shutout wins to begin the 2022 season. Her 1-0 and 2-0 wins over San Diego and Weber State, respectively, became her 21^st and 22^nd career shutouts, moving her to fourth all time in Summit League history.
 
Arrazola made all three saves she faced in the second half of Denver's game against Weber State on Sunday. The Denver goalkeeper is the first to not allow a goal through the team's first two games since Brittany Wilson in 2019.
 
This is the third Summit League weekly honor of Arrazola's career, each of her previous two also coming during the first week of play (2021 spring season and 2021 fall season).
 
Arrazola will help lead DU in two matches against Pac-12 opponents this week when Denver travels to Utah on Thursday, August 25, and then hosts Arizona State on Sunday, August 28.
