SPARKS, Md. – Week 2 of Athletes Unlimited professional women's lacrosse saw Denver Pioneers alum and volunteer assistant Molly Little and assistant coach Brittany Read face off on different teams for the first time this season.
 
Little was on Team Moreno/Gold while Read guarded the pipes for Team Johansen/Orange in week 2; both squads posted 1-2 records.
 
On defense, Little had a monster week, totaling four ground balls, six draw controls, three caused turnovers and an assist over the three games. After a 12-10 win over Team Arsenault/Purple last Thursday, Little posted a helper and had two ground balls, two draw controls and three caused turnovers in a 13-12 loss to Team Apuzzo/Blue on Saturday.
 
Read made nine saves and had two ground balls in a 12-6 loss to Team Apuzzo/Blue on Thursday before adding another ground ball and stopping six shots in an 11-7 loss to Team Arsenault on Saturday.
 
The two Pioneers matched up on Sunday afternoon in the week 2 finale, with Read and Team Johansen earning an 11-7 win over Little and Team Moreno. Read made four saves on seven shots while playing three of the four quarters, and Little finished with three draw controls.
 
Read moved up two spots on the player leaderboard and is in 12th place with 601 points. Little ranks 39th with 349 points.
 
The Denver coaches will once again be on different teams in Week 3, with Little staying on Team Gold with captain Taylor Moreno, while Read was drafted by captain Sam Apuzzo and Team Orange. Competition begins Thursday, and the two Pios will once again square off in the finale on Sunday, Aug. 7 at 1:30 p.m. MT (ESPNU).
