QUICK HITS:
- A pair of Denver goals 1:33 apart flipped a 1-0 deficit into a 2-1 lead for the Pioneers, a match they eventually won against No. 20 Georgetown 3-1 in the final game of a loaded field at the TLC Plumbing, Heating and Cooling Invitational in New Mexico.
- Sam Bassett has scored in the first three matches of the season, the first Pioneer to do that since Andre Shinyashiki's historic season in 2018.
- Friday's match is the third of eight non-conference Denver opponents, and nine opponents overall, that finished the last season in the RPI Top-100 (2-0). Â
- Denver has student-athletes from 12 different states and four other countries. The 12 states represented is Denver's most on a single roster in its Division I history.
- The Pioneers improved to 21-40-12 against ranked opponents in their Division I history on Friday at Maryland, including 12-14-4 under Jack and Sheila Weinberg Head Men's Soccer Coach Jamie Franks.
Up Next: Denver will wrap-up its five-match road swing next weekend when Denver heads to UC San Diego on Friday (Sept. 9) and San Diego State on Sunday (Sept. 11). Both matches are set to kick at 8 p.m. MT/7 p.m. PT. Â
