DENVER – The University of Denver men's tennis team will host its first two home matches of the 2023 season when it welcomes UC Davis on Friday, January 20, at 12 p.m. MT and Rice on Sunday, January 22, at 10:30 a.m. MT. Both matches will be held at Denver Tennis Park.
 
Last Time Out:
DU began its 2023 campaign at (RV) Southern Methodist on January 14, falling 7-0 to the Mustangs. The doubles team of graduate student 
Mitch Johnson and redshirt senior 
Anish Sriniketh were up a break on Court 2 when SMU clinched the doubles point with wins on Courts 1 and 3. In singles, junior 
Nicolas Herrero Cuesta forced a third set after winning a second-set tiebreak, though he dropped the match tiebreak.  
 
Series History:
UC Davis: This will be the first meeting between Denver and UC Davis since DU became a Division I program in 1998-99.
 
Rice: DU holds a 1-2 all-time record against Rice, winning the teams' most recent meeting on the road on January 16, 2022, by a final score of 4-3. This will be the first time that Rice travels to Denver.
 
Up Next:
DU heads back on the road with a trip to Northern Arizona on Saturday, January 28, before returning to Denver for matches against Air Force on February 3 and Montana State on February 5.
