[RV/23] Denver Welcomes Kansas City on Senior Saturday

The Summit League regular season champion Pioneers welcome the Roos to the Mile High City in regular season finale

DENVER – The [RV/23] University of Denver men's soccer team returns home for its regular season finale on Saturday when the Pioneers host Kansas City on Saturday at 1 p.m. MT. The match time was changed to 1 p.m. MT to coordinate simultaneous kickoffs in the league on the final match day of the regular season.

Summit League Network:
New this year, fans can subscribe to the Summit League Network, the exclusive streaming home of all Denver men's and women's soccer home games and conference away games. For more information on the Summit League Network, click here.

Last Time Out:
Bryce Willoughby scored in the 16th minute off a feed from Holger Olsson and Isaac Nehme kept his 10th cleansheet of the season to take the Pioneers past Oral Roberts last Saturday on a rainy night in Tulsa. With the win, Denver clinched its ninth regular season title in 11 tries, and won the program's 17th trophy in the 20 available in the league.

The Series:
Denver is 8-2-3 all-time against Kansas City, going unbeaten in the last seven (since 2009). The Pioneers won 3-0 in last season's Summit League Final and won 1-0 on a Sam Bassett penalty in Kansas City early last month.

O'Toole's Experience:
Graduate student Aidan O'Toole is schedule to play in his program-record setting 84th career match on Saturday night, passing Pioneer legends Sam Hamilton, Scott DeVoss, Andre Shinyashiki and Stefan DeLeone who all finished with 83 matches played.

The Franks Foundation:
Jack and Sheila Weinberg Head Men's Soccer Coach Jamie Franks is 107-35-27 as a head coach at Denver, 144-52-35 in his 12 years overall with the Pioneers and 243-79-52 in his time as a player and a coach in college soccer. Franks became the second coach in program history to reach 100 career wins on Friday night, doing so in 158 career matches.

Top-10 Program in Franks' Tenure:
Since Franks took over at the start of the 2015 season, the Pioneers have 107 wins, sitting 10th in the country in that category heading into this weekend's matches. Of the 12 teams in the country that started the year with at least 96 wins, Denver has the sixth-fewest losses at 34.

Up Next:
Denver will head right back to Tulsa next week as the No. 1 seed in the 2023 Summit League Men's Soccer Championships.
