NEW YORK – University of Denver men's lacrosse senior goalie Jack Thompson has been named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday.
 
Thompson made nine saves against four goals allowed in the Pioneers season-opening 12-4 win over Utah on Saturday afternoon at Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium.
 
The Denver senior improved to 23-11 in-between the pipes for the Pioneers.
