Jimmy Freehill Picked 32nd Overall by Buffalo in 2025 NLL Draft

Freehill became the 40th Pioneer taken in the NLL Draft in the program’s history on Saturday

PHILADELPHIA – Former University of Denver men's lacrosse close defenseman Jimmy Freehill was taken 32nd overall by Buffalo in the 2025 NLL Draft on Saturday afternoon.
 
Freehill played in 61 games, and started the final 51 of his collegiate career for the Pioneers, picking up 92 ground balls and forcing 48 turnovers. The Newton, Massachusetts, native finished seventh in Denver's DI history in caused turnovers. Freehill recently wrapped up his first season in the PLL after being taken 25th overall by the Philadelphia Waterdogs in this spring's draft. The recent Denver graduate was a two-time All-American.
 
Freehill is now the 40th Pioneer to have been selected in the National Lacrosse League Draft in the program's history.
