#ProPios Shine in PLL Homecoming at Barton

Four Pioneers combined for 11 of 25 goals in Saturday’s opener between the Waterdogs and the Atlas

DENVER– The University of Denver men's lacrosse program had four former players finish with hat tricks in the PLL's second return to Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium last weekend.

In the first of two nights on Friday, Colin Squires had a pair of caused turnovers and a ground ball in the Whipsnakes 12-10 win over Chaos. Jackson Morrill scored a goal and picked up five ground balls in Chrome's eight-goal loss to the league-leading Archers.

Seven #ProPios played on day two, including five in the opening game of the Saturday night double header. Ethan Walker had three goals and three assists and Jack Hannah had a pair of tallies as the Waterdogs beat Atlas for the second-straight year at Barton Stadium, this time by a count of 14-11.

In the loss, Trevor Baptiste went 23-of-28 with 21 ground balls and his first outdoor professional hat trick. Baptiste's hat trick was first since April of 2017 when he scored three at Barton against Villanova in his junior season. Eric Law also had a hatty for Atlas to go with a helper for a four-point night. Danny Logan rounded out the Atlas production with a pair of ground balls on the defensive end.

Saturday's final game saw the return of 2015 NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player Wes Berg and Yale transfer TD Ierlan, who played his final collegiate season with the Pioneers in 2021. Ierlan went 27-of-30 from the stripe, picking up ground balls on all 27 of his wins. In his first game at Barton under the lights since putting up 10 points in the first half of a night game in 2015, Berg had a hat trick, four ground balls and a caused turnover in the Redwoods overtime win.
