[RV/23] Denver and [RV/30] Creighton Clash Monday Night

The Pioneers will wrap-up the middle weekend of their six-match homestand to begin 2023 on Monday at 7 p.m. MT

DENVER – The [RV/23] University of Denver men's soccer team closes out the second weekend of the 2023 season on Monday when the Pioneers welcome [RV/30] Creighton to the University of Denver Soccer Stadium. Kickoff on the Summit League Network is set for 7 p.m. MT.

Summit League Network:
New this year, fans can subscribe to the Summit League Network, the exclusive streaming home of all Denver men's and women's soccer home games and conference away games. For more information on the Summit League Network, click here.

Last Time Out:
A first career multi-goal game from Oje Ofunrein and a first of the season for Lukas Fisher guided the Pioneers to a 3-1 win over No. 11 SMU on Friday night at the University of Denver Soccer Stadium. Denver held its first three-goal lead against a ranked opponent in its Division I history at the intermission, a lead that stood up in the second half.

The Series:
Creighton has a 3-1-1 edge in a series that dates back to 2001 between the two regional foes. The Pioneers have earned results in the last two, including a walk-off win in the 105th minute from Stefan DeLeone in a top-10 clash in Omaha the last time the two teams met (2018). Monday marks the first meeting in Denver between the two programs since 2008, a 1-0 win for No. 10 Crieghton in August of 2011.

The Franks Foundation:
Jack and Sheila Weinberg Head Men's Soccer Coach Jamie Franks is 99-33-24 as a head coach at Denver, 134-50-32 in his 12 years overall with the Pioneers and 233-77-49 in his time as a player and a coach in college soccer. A win on Monday would make Franks the second coach in program history to reach the century mark in career wins.

Pios at Home:
Denver is 92-21-16 at the University of Denver Soccer Stadium, including 82-10-10 since Franks joined the staff as an assistant in 2012 and 57-8-7 since he took over as head coach in 2015.

Up Next:
The third and final weekend of the six-match homestand begins on Friday when the Pioneers welcome UC San Diego to the University of Denver Soccer Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. MT.
