DENVER – The University of Denver gymnastics team is ranked No. 12 in the Week 3 Road to Nationals rankings, which were released on Monday.
DU increased its season average by a full tenth following its 197.175 performance on January 21. The team's 196.975 average is only .025 from a spot in the top 10 overall.
TEAM NATIONAL RANKINGS
Overall: No. 10 (196.975 average)
Vault: No. 15 (49.200)
Bars: No. 7 (49.383)
Beam: No. 11 (49.167)
Floor: No. 23 (49.225)
Denver also improved its averages on three of the four events – including by .125 on floor alone, returning DU to the top 25 on the event. The bars squad maintained its No. 7 national ranking while the team moved up two spots on vault.
INDIVIDUAL NATIONAL RANKINGS
Senior Jessica Hutchinson
All-Around: No. 13 (39.542 average)
Beam: tie-No. 24 (9.883)
Senior Rylie Mundell
Bars: tie-No. 9 (9.917)
Senior Rosie Casali
Vault: tie-No. 24 (9.875)
Hutchinson is again ranked inside the top 15 in the all-around and made her season debut in the beam rankings. Mundell's third-straight 9.9+ on bars to start the season kept her in the top 10 while Casali holds a national ranking for just the third time in her career and the first time since Week 3 of the 2022 season.
No. 12 Denver faces No. 1 Oklahoma for the second-consecutive week when DU makes the trip to OU on Friday, January 26, at 7 p.m. CT/6 p.m. MT.
