LOS ANGELES – The University of Denver men's tennis team added another five wins to its total through the first two days of the LMU Invite.
DU started with taking two of three doubles matches against Utah, starting with the second victory in a row for the Denver team of senior
Rikuto Yamaguchi and junior
Raffaello Papajcik. Graduate student
Connor Robb-Wilcox and freshman
Theo Coats also won their second consecutive doubles match to begin the tournament, dropping just one more game than Papjajcik/Yamaguchi.
In singles, Papajcik earned another straight-sets singles win, the first of three total wins for DU against UC Irvine on Saturday. Fellow junior
Ryoma Mishiro and freshman
Samuel Rovai each won their first sets before dropping the second. Mishiro responded with a dominant 6-1 win in the third while Rovai earned the critical break midway through the final set.
Play concludes at the LMU Invite on Sunday with Denver playing Utah in singles at 9 a.m. PT/10 a.m. MT, followed by doubles against LMU at approximately 12 p.m. PT/1 p.m. MT.
