SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - University of Denver men's and women's swimming and diving student-athletes
Joseph Hancock,
Zyad Morsy and
Mina Ada Solaker all earned Summit League Peak Performer of the Week honors, the league office announced on Tuesday.
Morsy's award was his fourth of the season and the 11th of his three-year Pioneer career. Solaker and Hancock earned their first career Summit League awards.
Hancock led Denver with a second-place finish in the mile on the fourth and final day of the Minnesota Invite, earning both an NCAA B-Cut and Denver's fourth-best time in program history with a 15:07.52. He also turned in a 4:23.65 in the 500 free prelims, the ninth best time in program history.
Morsy got his third event NCAA Zone Cut of the season so he'll be eligible to compete on all three boards at NCAA Zones in the winter of 2025. His score of 354.65 was good for third in the field. Morsy also finished fourth on both the 1 and 3-meter boards.
Solaker finished sixth in the 400 IM with a 4:15.32 to highlight her successful weekend, earning both an NCAA B Standard and the sixth-best time in Denver history. She also finished 12
th in the 200 back with the 10
th-best time in the program record books, a 1:58.26.
UP NEXT:
Denver will have the weekend off before departing for its training trip. A group of Pioneers will compete in the 2024 CSCAA Open Water National Championships on Friday, December 13 in Miami, Florida.
