DENVER - The No. 10 Denver Pioneers women's lacrosse team closes out its east-coast roadtrip with a battle against the Stony Brook Seawolves on Monday morning in New York.
The Pioneers have a 6-3 record against the Seawolves, in their last meeting Denver defeated Stony Brook, 11-7, at Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium.
THE LAST TIME OUT: The Pioneers to the Northwestern Wildcats, 10-14, on Friday night.
Kyra Obert led the offensive effort for the Pios with her first career hat trick. Denver kept it close with the reigning national champions and held a lead in the third quarter but weren't able to overcome the Wildcats. Junior
Emelia Bohi made a season-high nine saves in net.
SCOUTING THE SEAWOLVES: Stony Brook is 5-1 on the season with its only loss coming from [15] Johns Hopkins, 12-14. The Seawolves return their leading attacker in Kailyn Hard, who led the CAA conference attackers last season with 55 goals and 78 points. Unanimous All-American Ellie Masera also returns to the Stony Brook roster, the midfielder led the Seawolves a season ago with 71 goals and 95 points. Goalkeeper Emily Manning has appeared in goal five times this season and owns a 0.339 save percentage and 10.31 goals against average.
