KANSAS CITY, Mo. – University of Denver fifth-year guard Tommy Bruner has been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches All-District 12 First Team, the NABC announced on Tuesday.
Bruner led the country in scoring during the 2023-24 regular season, and was named to the All-Summit League First Team earlier this month. The South Carolina native was a five-time Summit League Peak Performer of the Week and a three-time Summit League Male Athlete of the Month during the campaign. In addition to leading the country in scoring, Bruner led the Summit League in assists per game. Bruner was the first DU player since Scott Williams in 1989-90 to finish with two 40+ point games in the same season, and broke DU's all-time single-season scoring record.
The Denver guard became the 44th member of the 1,000 point club this season, doing so in 52 career games, 15 games faster than the next closest Pioneer. Earlier this season, Bruner was also named to the Oscar Robertson Trophy/All-America Watch List for his efforts, highlighting the top-40 players in the country. Bruner is the first Summit League first team pick since Joe Rosga in 2018.
