DENVER – University of Denver men's soccer senior midfielder Sam Bassett has been named to the 2024 United Soccer Coaches' Division I Men's Soccer Midfielders to Watch list ahead of the start of the upcoming season, USC announced on Friday.
Bassett was named a United Soccer Coaches' Second Team All-American a year ago, after scoring a career-high eight goals and tallying a career-high seven assists for 23 points in his junior campaign. A year ago, Bassett finished 47th in points per game (1.28). Bassett has made 54 career appearances for Jamie Franks side, putting up 43 points on 15 goals and 13 helpers. The Littleton, Colorado, native had four career game-winning goals and is a perfect 5-for-5 from the penalty spot.

UP NEXT: Denver will open the preseason on Sunday when the Pioneers welcome Air Force to the University of Denver Soccer Stadium. Kickoff, the second game of a men's and women's double header, is set for 4 p.m. MT. The Pioneers host Colorado School of Mines in a preseason match on August 17 (5 p.m. MT) before officially opening the 2024 season at California on August 22 at 5:30 p.m. MT.
