DENVER - University of Denver women's lacrosse associate head coach Taylor VanThof earned a spot on the U.S Women's Box team and is currently competing at the first ever Women's Box Lacrosse World Championship in Utica, New York.

"Being part of the inaugural Women's USA Box Lacrosse team is an incredible honor," VanThof said. "I am excited and humbled to represent Team USA in a fast-paced, physical version of the sport, while also helping to grow women's box lacrosse on a global stage. It's a unique opportunity to be a trailblazer, setting the foundation for future generations"

The United States completed pool play with an undefeated 4-0 record, scoring 99 goals in four games. VanThof recorded a point in each of the games with two goals and two assists total.

"Competing at the national level with Team USA while coaching at DU creates a unique blend of experiences that greatly benefits our athletes' development," VanThof said. "Playing alongside the best in the country has sharpened my tactical and technical knowledge of the game and reinforced a mindset of constant growth, resilience, and adaptability—qualities that are crucial for personal success and essential to instill in college athletes."

The US will play the winner of the play-in game between England and Australia in the quarterfinal on Thursday.
