TULSA, Okla. – University of Denver senior and men's tennis player
Daniel Sancho Arbizu moved into the consolation round of 32 at the ITA All-American Championships by way of walkover on Thursday.
Sancho Arbizu was scheduled to play No. 8-seeded Jack Anthrop from Ohio State in a first-round consolation match on Thursday, but Anthrop withdrew from the tournament ahead of the match.
The Denver senior will now play Peter Makk from USC in the consolation round of 32 on Friday at 12 p.m. CT/11 a.m. MT.
Sancho Arbizu received a direct entry into the ITA All-American Championships main draw but dropped his opening-round match, 6-4 6-3, to Braden Shick from NC State on Wednesday. He is now playing for one of two berths to the NCAA National Championships that are awarded to the two finalists in this week's consolation draw.
