Denver Men’s Tennis Adds Tommy Koszowski to Staff

Denver tennis native Koszowski to join coaching staff for 2025-26 season

DENVER – The University of Denver men's tennis team has hired Tommy Koszowski an assistant coach for skill instruction and recruiting, head coach Drew Eberly announced on Tuesday.

"I'm excited to add a second coach to the staff with Tommy, who's been around Denver for a long time," Eberly said. "Similar to Anish (Sriniketh), he knows a lot about the game and has a high tennis IQ. He's a young, relatable guy for our players to connect with and grow with."

Koszowski is a former collegiate tennis player, spending four seasons at Whittier College in Whittier, California, from 2016-20. A three-time team captain, he collected three first-team All-SCIAC honors and helped lead the Poets to their first NCAA Division III national ranking in more than five years in 2017.

The Denver native returned home after graduating and has re-established himself within the local tennis community. Most recently, he has served as the junior tennis director at Denver Tennis Club, earning a promotion to the role in January 2024 after originally joining the staff in October 2022. During his time thus far at DTC, he has more than doubled participation in its youth program while coaching multiple nationally-ranked juniors and eventual NCAA Division I players.

"Having grown up in Denver's tennis community, I feel a deep connection to the sport in this city, and DU represents the pinnacle of tennis in Denver," Koszowski said. "College tennis provides a unique opportunity not only to elevate players' games but also to guide them as they grow into leaders and well-regarded young men. What excites me most about this role is the chance to share my passion for competition while making a meaningful impact on both their tennis and their character. That responsibility is one I view as both significant and deeply rewarding."

Koszowski joins assistant coach Anish Sriniketh as the newest members of the Denver coaching staff. They will help lead a Denver program that successfully defended its Summit League title in 2025 and advanced to the NCAA National Championships for the 10th time in program history. The Pioneers finished ranked No. 50 nationally – their highest ranking of the year – following an 18-7 overall record and a perfect 5-0 in Summit League play.

"We're honored and excited to have Anish and Tommy on our staff," Eberly said. "We've already seen a big different and jump from our student-athletes just being around both of them, and I think they're going to bring a lot to the program."

The 2025-26 Denver squad has started its 2025 fall season with sophomore Theo Coats collecting the Bedford Cup in the Mountains singles title before being one of three Pioneers to advance to the singles quarterfinals at the 2025 ITA Mountain Regional Championships last week. Freshmen Aaron Beduhn and Tom Noltorp will play at Montana State's Bobcat Invitational on October 24-26 before DU hosts its annual fall tournament, the Colorado Cup, on October 21 – November 2, at Denver Tennis Park.
