Tommy Koszowski enters his first season as an assistant coach (skill instruction and recruiting) for the Denver men's tennis program in 2025-26.

Prior to Denver (Coaching Experience)

Junior Tennis Director, Denver Tennis Club (January 2024-pres.)

  • Oversees planning, staffing and development for DTC junior program
  • More than doubled junior program participation across all age groups and skill levels
  • Introduced UTR tournaments as part of junior player development and growth
  • Developed annual calendar featuring defined seasonal sessions and tournament dates
  • Promoted to role following more than a year on staff (see below)

Tennis Teaching Professional, Denver Tennis Club (October 2022 - January 2024)

  • Oversaw junior program and managed junior coaching staff
  • Coached students from ages 4-80, from novices to nationally-ranked players
  • Led group clinics
  • Advanced from part-time instructor to full-time coach

Additional Coaching Experience

  • Co-founder of Hi-Def Tennis (providing programming and business model for adult tennis players)
  • Has served as a freelance tennis coach, traveling across the country with junior players
  • Spent two years as a tennis professional and another two years as a hitting coach at Lifetime Fitness and Tennis in Centennial, Colorado
  • Served as junior summer camp head coach at Cherry Creek Country Club in Denver in 2015
  • Volunteered with Special Olympics in Whittier, California, while attending Whittier College; assisted with basketball and tennis events/tournaments

Prior to Denver (Playing Experience)

  • Achieved UTR of 11.69 in August 2023, highest in the state of Colorado at the time
  • Won two doubles titles (2024, 2022) and reached singles semifinal (2023) at Denver City Open
  • Reached singles semifinal at 2023 Colorado State Open
  • Won mixed title (open division) and reached singles and doubles finals (open division) at 2023 Colorado Club Championships
  • Won multiple USTA Men's 5.0+ Team titles in 2022 and 2024, including 2024 national championship
  • Student-athlete at Whittier College (2016-20); played Nos. 1 and 2 singles and achieved national singles ranking (Division III)

  • Bachelor's degree in biology (Whittier College '20)
  • Also member of research project at University of Colorado Anschutz School of Medicine (May 2017 - January 2018)
