DENVER – Four University of Denver women's soccer players were named to the 2025 Summit League Women's Soccer Academic All-League Team, the league announced on Wednesday.
Senior
Isabella Chidiac, graduate student
Samantha Dreiling, redshirt sophomore
Shay Payne and redshirt junior
Hannah Tate each earned a spot on the team, tying DU for the most honorees by any program this year.
Denver also matched a program record for most Academic All-Summit League awards in a single season with its four in 2025.
To be eligible for Academic All-League Team, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 and have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's scheduled matches. Freshmen and first-year transfer students are not eligible. The top 11 vote getters – plus ties – are named to the team.
Chidiac is a molecular biology major with a 3.75 GPA and finished a breakout campaign during the 2025 season that saw her tie for No. 17 nationally at the end of the regular season for total assists (9). She also scored her first collegiate goal and started in all 18 matches for Denver.
S. Dreiling began working towards her master's degree in clinical exercise physiology after completing her bachelor's degree in biology in physiology with a 3.98 GPA. She, too, started in every match for DU this season, scoring three goals including the second brace of her career.
Payne is studying psychology and holds a 4.00 GPA. After only playing in three matches prior to the start of the season, she saw minutes in all but one match in 2025. She scored the first goal of her collegiate career, which was also the game winner against Southern Utah.
Tate has been a criminology major with a 3.90 GPA. The 2025 Summit League Midfielder of the Year also earned a spot on the league's All-Tournament Team and finished with five points on the season.
This is the second time that S. Dreiling has earned Academic All-Summit League honors in her career after first doing so in 2023. Chidiac, Payne and Tate each picked up the first such nods of their careers.
