Denver Women’s Soccer Inks Six for 2026-27 Season

DU to welcome six future Pioneers beginning next season

DENVER – The University of Denver women's soccer team has added six student-athletes for the 2026-27 academic year, head coach Julianne Sitch announced on Friday.

Maeve Morgan, Reese Morgan, Solveig Moritz, Caitlin Staats, Keirra Venson and Jacqui Wilson have all signed to join the Pioneers beginning with the 2026 soccer season.

Maeve Morgan is a forward from Scottsdale, Arizona, and plays for Phoenix Rising FC. Additionally, she played varsity basketball for Scottsdale Prep and was named the team's 2025 Defensive Player of the Year.

Reese Morgan – who is not related to Maeve – is a midfielder from Loveland, Colorado. She helped lead Real Colorado to the ECNL U17 national championship in 2025 and the semifinals in 2023. Twice, she has participated in US Soccer Talent ID Centers and was a finalist at the 2022 US Youth Soccer National Championships. While playing at Fossil Ridge High School, she won the 5A state championship and earned All-Colorado first team honors in 2025. Outside of soccer, she also added two all-Colorado 5A state honors in track and field.

Solveig Moritz is a midfielder/forward from Vail, Colorado, and is the sister of current Denver women's soccer player Liv Moritz. As a member of Vail Valley SC, she placed third at the 2023 US Youth Soccer Far West President Cup and took part in the 2023-24 Olympic Development Program. This past season, she earned first-team 3A Western Slope honors after placing second in the league in overall points and averaged three points a game while playing for the Vail Mountain School. Like her sister, Moritz is expected to also be a member of the University of Denver ski team while enrolled at DU.

Caitlin Staats is a forward from Boise, Idaho, and plays for the Boise Thorns. In 2024-25, she earned ECNL Northwest first-team all-conference honors after collecting ECNL Mountain All-Region honors while playing with La Roca in 2023-24. She missed the 2025 high school season with an injury but was set for a big year after earning first-team all-Idaho state recognition and second-team all-conference honors in 2024. Twice, she took part in the Olympic Development Program and received invites to the 2021 and 2022 regional camps.

Keirra Venson is a defender from Round Rock, Texas. This past year was her first playing for Sting Austin FC, and she earned ECNL second-team all-conference honors. She has also played for her high school team, Stony Point High School, and collected second-team All-District honors in 2023.
