Portland Timbers Academy Defender Kai Carlson Signs with Denver

The Pioneers add defender from the PNW

DENVER – The University of Denver men's soccer program has signed Kai Carlson, Jack and Sheila Weinberg Head Men's Soccer Coach Jamie Franks announced on Wednesday.

Kai Carlson – 5-10 – 150 – Eugene, Oregon – Freshman – Portland Timbers Academy - Defender
Before Denver:

2022 GA Cup champion…Captained the Timbers Academy for the U15s, U17s and U18s.    
 
Personal:
Chose the University of Denver because it felt like the best option for him and his family….Felt the coaches and players on the roster shared the same values he did…Hopes to play professional soccer…Also enjoys golf, basketball, skiing, hiking and camping.

Franks on Kai Carlson:
"Kai is a player who fits Denver in so many way. His leadership with Portland Timbers as the captain of the squad and ability to be resilient is why think Kai will be a great addition. He's got the ability to play multiple positions on the field and is willing to do whatever it takes for the team was seen in the recruiting process and shows as he's led his club team to trophies in the academy."
