Frank Tirone have been named Kwik Star Summit League Peak Performers of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday.
Tirone earned his second award of the campaign and the second of his career, while Marin won her second award of the season and the third of her career.
Marin opened her meet on Saturday at the 2025 Colorado Sprint Championships in Colorado Springs with a win in the women's 200 free, clocking in at 1:52.38. The Denver grad student then swept all three races of the 50 fly, earning a 25.28 in the prelims, a 25.32 in the semifinals and a 25.23 in the final.
Tirone swept all three legs of the men's 50 free on Saturday afternoon. He opened with a 20.43 in the prelims, followed by a 20.60 in the semifinal and a 20.13 in the final. Tirone closed out his meet by swimming the leadoff leg of the 200 free relay in 20.32, an event the Pioneers went on to win with a 1:20.83.
UP NEXT: Denver hosts the 2025 First Chance Invitational on Friday and Saturday this weekend in El Pomar Natatorium. Diving begins on Friday at 11 a.m. MT while swimming will get started at 3 p.m. MT. Saturday's action will only feature swimming, which begins at 10 a.m. MT.
