No. 18 Denver Gymnastics Closes Regular Season at No. 13 Stanford

DU set for regular-season finale with first trip to Stanford since 2002

WHO: No. 18 Denver at No. 13 Stanford
WHAT: Denver's regular-season finale
WHERE: Maples Pavilion (Stanford, California)
WHEN: Sunday, March 9, at 1:45 p.m. MT

LAST TIME OUT:
Denver hosted Arizona State for its final Big 12 Conference meet and home meet of the 2025 season, earning the team's second highest home score of the year (196.700) on March 9. DU ended the meet with a season-high 49.400 on floor, improving on the previous season's best by more than a tenth. Denver gymnasts also won at least a share of four of the individual titles, including victories for fifth-year senior Rosie Casali (vault), senior Mia Hebinck (bars) and graduate student Bella Mabanta (floor) in the final home meet of their careers.

EYE ON THE RANKINGS:
Denver maintained its No. 18 national ranking after increasing its NQS to 196.705 following its meet against Arizona State. DU also improved its NQSs on bars and floor, and subsequently moved up in the rankings on those events to No. 7 and No. 23, respectively.

Sophomore Madison Ulrich stayed in the national all-around rankings for a third straight week, coming in at No. 24 this week.

Graduate student Rylie Mundell increased her NQS on bars to 9.895, putting her just outside the top 25 nationally by the smallest possible margin of .005.

QUICK HITS:
  • With its 5,095 fans in the home finale on March 9, Denver secured a new program record for average attendance in a season (4,781).
    • DU entered the meet having already reset the program record for total attendance in a season and extended that record to 28,684 after the ASU meet.
    • The March 9 attendance also became the seventh largest single-meet mark in DU history.
  • For the first time since 2018, Denver finished with an undefeated record at home, going 10-0 in 2025 and earning wins over four teams that are currently nationally ranked.
  • Stanford will be DU's ninth opponent to be nationally ranked at the time of its meet against Denver.
    • In total, more than half of Denver's opponents so far (nine of 17) appear in the top 25 in the current Week 10 national rankings.
    • DU has competed against three of the top 10 teams in the country and four of the top 11 – and earned wins against three of those teams.
  • Friday's meet will mark the third year in a row that Denver has ended the regular season with a road meet at a Power-4 opponent.
SCOUTING THE CARDINAL:
Stanford is coming off a second-place finish at UCLA on March 9, scoring a 197.100 that was the team's second highest road score of the season. The Cardinal are led in part by Brenna Neault, who is ranked No. 25 nationally in the all-around and adds a tie for No. 12 on beam. Anna Roberts is tied for No. 10 on vault and tied for No. 23 on bars. A second Stanford gymnast is ranked on beam in Sienna Robinson, who is tied for No. 20.

This will be the 20th all-time meeting between Denver and Stanford with DU holding a 2-17 record – though the first 16 meetings all came before 2013. The teams met twice in 2024, starting with Denver earning its second-ever win against the Cardinal on January 21 at home (197.175-196.100). They met again in the highly competitive 2024 NCAA Regional Final in Berkeley, California, where Stanford snuck out a narrow .125 win over DU to advance to the NCAA National Semifinals.

This will be Denver's first trip to Stanford since February 3, 2002.
