Denver Welcomes Butler on Saturday

DENVER - The University of Denver women's lacrosse team returns home on Saturday at 11 a.m. MT to take on the Butler Bulldogs at Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium. 

The Pioneers are 8-0 all time against the Bulldogs. DU won the most recent matchup between the two teams, 20-5, on April 10, 2024 in Indianapolis. 

2025 CAPTAINS
• The Pioneers selected redshirt senior Raegan Wilson and seniors Lauren Black and Caroline Colimore as captains for the 2025 season.
• Wilson missed the part of the 2024 season due to injury but appeared in 14 games for the Pioneers.
• Black was third on the Pioneers, recording 59 points on 38 goals and 21 assists. The New Westminster, British Columbia native was an All-Big East First team selection a year ago as well as the 2022 Big East Freshman of the Year. She also bring international experience to the Pioneers, having played for Team Canada last summer.
• Colimore started in all 20 games for the Pioneers last season and was third on the squad with 30 goals and six assists. The midfielder recorded 10 multi-goal games and a career-high four goals in the Big East title game against Connecticut. The Maryland native was a 2024 All-Big East First team selection

A BALANCED OFFENSE
• VanThof joined the Pioneers as Associate Head Coach and Offensive and Recruiting Coordinator this offseason.
• The Pioneers have seven different attackers with 10 or more goals this season.
• Olivia Ripple leads the offense with 48 points on 40 goals and 8 assists, alongside Raegan Wilson with 21 goals and 22 assists and Lauren Black adding 36 goals and 11 assists.
• DU has tallied seven or more goal scorers on nine occasions this season.

DORR LEADS THE DRAW
• Redshirt freshman leads the Pioneers in the draw circle with 87 draw wins so far this season, good for seventh-most by a Pioneer in a single season and the most recorded by a freshman in program history.
• The Florida native averages 6.69 wins per game, good for third in the Big East and 26th nationally.
• The Pioneers have a 0.569 draw win percentage with 15.31 wins per game.
• Alongside Dorr, Caroline Colimore has recorded 31 draw wins, Raegan Wilson has 24 and Sarah Pokorny tacked on 17.

"HOT PINK" DEFENSE
• Denver ranks 35th in scoring defense, allowing an average ot 10.38 goals per game, good for third in the Big East.
• DU leads the conference and is 13th nationally with 10.92 caused turnovers per game.
• Denver has forced 7+ caused turnovers in all but three games over the last four seasons.
• Senior Sarah Pokorny leads the Big East and is 23rd in the nation, averaging 2.00 caused turnovers per game
