[RV/RV] Denver Heads to Marquette for Regular Season Finale

The Pioneers and Golden Eagles square off in a win and in game in Milwaukee on Friday night

DENVER – The [RV/RV] University of Denver men's lacrosse program will wrap-up the regular season on Friday night when the Pioneers head to Milwaukee to take on Marquette. Opening faceoff is set for 6 p.m. CT/5 p.m. MT at Valley Fields. The winner of Friday night's game will earn the fourth and final spot in the 2025 BIG EAST Men's Lacrosse Tournament.   
 
DI SERIES HISTORY:
Denver holds a 13-2 edge in the series, including a perfect 5-0 record in the MKE. The Pioneers have won each of the previous 11 BIG EAST regular season conference games between the two programs. Denver's last trip to Wisconsin to play Marquette ended in a 15-14 overtime win for the Pioneers. FULL HISTORY
 
LAST TIME OUT:
Providence raced out to a 9-1 lead in the first 27 minutes of the contest, carrying that to a 10-6 win over the Pioneers last Saturday at Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium. FULL RECAP

Denver is 1-2 in its Division I era on April 25, including an 18-11 win over Marquette en-route to the National Championship in 2015.
On April 25, 2009, Dillon Roy had five CTs, good for what is now the sixth-most in program history in a game against Air Force.
 
DENVER'S DEFENSE MAKES STATEMENT IN TWO RANKED WINS
Denver's first ranked win of the season came against [7/8] Duke on March 22 in Texas, a 13-6 victory.
After giving up two goals in the opening 5:13, Denver allowed just one goal to Duke in the next 51:47, including holding Duke scoreless in a 42-minute stretch from the start of the second quarter to the final minutes of the fourth.
The output was Denver's lowest goals allowed against a top-10 opponent since holding then-No. 9 Villanova to 6 on Bill Tierney Day in April, 2024.
The win also marked Denver's lowest goals allowed against a top-10 opponent away from home since holding seventh-ranked Towson to six goals in Baltimore on March 23, 2019.
Senior goalie Malcolm Kleban made his first start in four games, and made 12 saves against just six goals allowed to earn BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week honors.
On April 12, Denver earned a 7-3 win at No. 13 Georgetown.
Denver held an opponent to three goals or less for the first time since holding Providence to three goals on the road on April 23, 2022.
The Pios held a ranked opponent to three goals or less for the first time since holding No. 20 Providence to two tallies on April 22, 2017.
Denver's three goals allowed against a nationally-ranked opponent away from home is its lowest total in program history.
