DENVER – Former University of Denver men's swimmer
Dylan Wright finished 24
th in a 39-swimmer field in the 200 fly at the 2025 World University Games in Berlin, Germany.
The South African reached the final wall in 2:02.44, a 0.42 second improvement on the time he posted to take third in the 200 fly finals at the 2025 South African National Swimming Championships in April in Gqeberha, South Africa.
Wright, the 2025 Summit League Men's Swimmer of the Year, will swim in the 200 back at the World University Games on Tuesday, an event he earned a World Championships Qualifying B-Cut in to take second in April's South African National Championships.
The Cape Town, South Africa, native, ranked 99
th in the country in the 200 back in his final collegiate season, recording a 200 back time of 1:42.52 to earn an NCAA B Standard in the event. Wright was part of the 200 medley and 800 free relays that earned Summit League Championships, while individually winning the 200 back (1:42.52) and finishing third in the 100 back (47.95).
