DENVER – University of Denver men's lacrosse rising junior attackman
Cody Malawsky added to Denver's list of Minto Cup winners on Friday night when for the second-consecutive summer he led the Coquitlam Adanacs to Minto Cup glory.
In game one of the Minto Cup Finals on Thursday night, Malawsky scored four goals to lead Coquitlam in a 7-5 win in game one of a best of three series against the Orangeville Northmen. Malawsky added a goal and three assists in the game two clincher, an 11-10 win on Friday.
Malawsky was named the Minto MVP, leading the tournament with 15 goals scored. The Denver junior has played in 29 career games for the Pioneers, starting 21 in the attack for
Matt Brown's men. Malawsky has scored 40 career goals and added 24 assists for 64 points at the midway point of his collegiate career.
Coquitlam became the first western team to win the cup on Ontario soil since 1977.
