DENVER – A pair of incoming freshmen on the Denver Pioneers women's triathlon team raced last weekend at the USA Triathlon Junior Nationals at Voice of America Park in West Chester, Ohio.
Jenna Topott of Allen, Texas, placed 14th in the women's draft-legal race with a time of 1:03:27.75 (11:00/31:49/18:17)
Jacksonville, Florida, native
Lucrezia Gowdy came in 21st in the same event, posting a time of 1:04:10.45 (11:31/31:21/19:58) and produced the fifth-fastest bike split in the event.
Mia Wentzy won the U.S. national championship in the race and was joined on the podium by Ruth Pardy and Marley Andelman.
Denver begins its 2025 season on Aug. 30 at the Southern Hills Triathlon super sprint in Hot Springs, South Dakota.
