DENVER – The University of Denver women's triathlon teams ranks eighth among Division-I programs in the first rankings of the 2025 that were released by College Triathlon Coaches Association.
DU has a score of 469.81 following a fifth-place finish in the Southern Hills Super Sprint on Aug. 30 and coming in sixth in the Desert's Edge Triathlon on Sept. 14.
The national rankings take into account all collegiate events during the regular season across all divisions. Teams have the opportunity to earn more points based on their performance in full triathlons but can also score points in other multi-sport events, such as relays or aquathlons. "Collegiate Cups" and regionals are weighted more heavily than other races.
Arizona State is the top-ranked program in the country in the first ratings with a score of 500.25, just edging in-state foe Arizona, which has a 500.25 score. San Francisco is third at 495.97 and Queens University of Charlotte is fourth at 495.07.
The CTCA also released its overall individual rankings for the entire collegiate field, with junior
Maira Carreau in ninth with a score of 100.05.
Jenna Topott is 56th (94.48),
Elizabeth Harita is 66th (93.78),
Lucrezia Gowdy is 75th (91.88),
Mia Stanley-Hunt is 89th (89.62) and
Olivia Wimberger is 117th (85.49)
Beth Cook of Queens is the top individual scorer at 103.43, while Arizona's Kelly Wetteland is second at 102.17 and Naomi Ruff of ASU is third at 101.53.
The Pioneers are back in action in less than two weeks for their final collegiate cup of the season as they travel to central Illinois for the Prairie State Cup on Saturday, Oct. 4 at Clinton Lake State Recreation Area.
