Denver Women’s Soccer Ready for Preseason Exhibitions

DU to host No. 25 Texas Tech, Northern Colorado on August 7, 10; admission free for both matches

DENVER – The University of Denver women's soccer team is set to host two preseason exhibition matches in preparation for the upcoming 2025 season.
 
Denver will first welcome preseason No. 25 Texas Tech on Thursday, August 7, at 6 p.m. MT. DU will then host Northern Colorado on Sunday, August 10, at 1 p.m. MT.
 
Admission is free for both matches.
 
QUICK HITS
  • Texas Tech is one of six Power-4 opponents on Denver's schedule this season.
  • Sunday's match against Northern Colorado is the first of three straight against in-state opponents for DU. In total, Denver will face off against five fellow Colorado teams in 2025.
  • Denver's 2025 roster features 16 returners and 10 newcomers.
  • The Pioneers went 11-6-2 a season ago including 5-1-2 in Summit League play and 4-2-2 at home.
    • Highlighting the team's 7-3 away record in 2024 was a 3-2 upset victory at then-No. 24 Texas A&M. DU will host the Aggies in its 2025 home opener on August 28.
  • DU is seeking its fifth Summit League title and a 13th trip to the NCAA National Championships in 2025.
TEXAS TECH SERIES HISTORY
  • Thursday's match marks the third year in a row and the 11th time overall that Denver and Texas Tech will face off in the preseason.
    • In last season's meeting, the Red Raiders posted a 1-0 win in Denver.
  • The teams have not played in the regular season since a 4-0 TTU win on September 9, 2001.
NORTHERN COLORADO SERIES HISTORY
  • This will be the third preseason meeting between Denver and Northern Colorado. The teams split the first two meetings.
    • UNC won the most recent exhibition, 2-1, in Greeley, Colo., on August 8, 2018.
    • Denver won their first exhibition meeting, 1-0, in Vail, Colo., on August 7, 2017.
  • DU holds an 8-0 record against UNC in the regular season including a 3-1 win the last time they played (August 31, 2023, in Denver).
WHAT'S NEXT
Denver begins its 2025 season with two trips to Colorado Springs, Colo., first playing at Air Force on Thursday, August 14, before visiting Colorado College on Sunday, August 17.

Admission is free for both the August 7 exhibition against Texas Tech and the August 10 exhibition against Northern Colorado.
