DENVER – University of Denver women's soccer player
Emma Thielbahr has been named the Kwik Star Summit League Defensive Peak Performer of the Week for the seventh week of the season, the league announced on Tuesday.
The Denver redshirt junior scored her team-best second game winner of the season in DU's comeback victory at reigning Summit League regular-season champion North Dakota State on September 28. Her header off a 71
st-minute corner kick became her fourth goal of the year, also best on the Denver roster and among the most in the League so far.
Additionally, the DU center back helped lead the Pioneers to a 1-0 shutout at North Dakota in the Summit League opener on September 25.
This is the second Summit League weekly award of Thielbahr's career and her first this season. It is also the second weekly nod for Denver in 2025 after redshirt senior
Samantha Dreiling captured offensive recognition in Week 1.
Early in the Summit League season, Denver sits atop the table with six points following its two wins during opening weekend of League play.
The University of Denver women's soccer team hosts a three-match homestand starting on Thursday, October 2, when DU hosts Kansas City at 7 p.m. MT.
