DENVER – University of Denver graduate student
Sara Rask is the RMISA Skier of the Meet for women's alpine at the 2026 Colorado Invitational.
Rask earned her fourth career Skier of the Meet award from the Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association after also picking up the honor at the 2025 RMISA Alpine Qualifiers, 2024 Denver Invitational and 2023 Westminster Invitational.
RMISA student-athletes can only earn the Skier of the Meet award once per season, and the winner is determined by the placement in the two discipline races of the meet.
The Stockholm, Sweden, native won both slalom races at Loveland Ski Area to open the season on Jan. 12-13, but only the second event counted as the CU Invite. She finished second in Colorado's giant slalom race on Jan. 15 at Aspen Highlands.
CU's Louison Accambray won both GS races in Aspen and earned Skier of the Meet for the DU Invitational in a total time tiebreak with Rask, edging the Pioneer by just 24-hundredths of a second (3:30.67-3:30.91).
Rask's two season-opening slalom victories brings her career total to 17, tying her for second in program history with men's Nordic's
Andreas Kirkeng and
Pietro Broggini.
The next alpine races begin on Saturday with four events at Mount Rose-Ski Tahoe for the Nevada Invitational and RMISA Alpine Qualifiers. Slalom is Saturday and Sunday while giant slalom is set for Monday and Tuesday. The second race of each discipline serves as the Nevada Invite.
