DENVER – The University of Denver volleyball team will return to Hamilton Gymnasium on Saturday, hosting Loyola Marymount at 1 p.m. MT for a Pink Out match as the Pioneers continue their inaugural West Coast Conference season. The match will be streamed live on ESPN+.
Denver enters the matchup with an 8-8 overall record and a 1-3 mark in WCC play.Â
The Pioneers opened conference action with a three-set sweep of Pacific before falling to Saint Mary's in four sets and San Diego in three. Denver most recently dropped a three-set decision to Pepperdine on Thursday night at Hamilton Gymnasium.
LMU enters Saturday's matchup with a 14-2 overall record and a perfect 5-0 mark in conference play.Â
The Lions are coming off a five-set victory over San Diego on Thursday, Oct. 8, and will look to continue their strong start to WCC action.
Denver holds a perfect 3-0 record against LMU, with wins in 2016, 2019 and 2025. The Pioneers won the first meeting, 3-1, on Sept. 2, 2016, before earning a five-set victory at a neutral site in 2019.Â
Last season, Denver rallied from a two-set deficit to defeat the Lions on the road in five sets, completing a reverse sweep to remain undefeated in the all-time series.
The Pioneers will look to bounce back with a win in front of the home crowd during Saturday's Pink Out match and earn their second WCC victory of the season.
