No. 73 Denver Men’s Tennis Travels to No. 40 Penn on Sunday

DU set for first match as ranked team against a fellow ranked opponent

DENVER – The No. 73-ranked University of Denver men's tennis team (8-4, 0-0 Summit) makes its only trip of the season to the East Coast when it plays at No. 40 Penn on Sunday, March 15, at 1 p.m. ET/11 a.m. MT.

Last Time Out:
Denver came away with two more road wins, starting with a 4-1 victory at New Mexico on March 6. DU won the doubles point after taking a tiebreak in the No. 1 match, the last of the three to finish, before earning three straight-sets singles wins to clinch the dual.

DU played for a second day in a row with its trip to Northern Arizona and closed out an extremely-tight 4-3 win that saw the teams trade every other point. Denver won the doubles for the third consecutive match and grabbed wins from sophomore Theo Coats and senior Ryoma Mishiro in singles before the dual came down to the No. 5 match where graduate student Connor Robb-Wilcox clinched it after rallying from a set down.

After winning both of his singles matches including that clinching point at NAU, Robb-Wilcox was named the Summit League Peak Performer of the Week and swept the week's award by sharing the Doubles Peak Team of the Week nod with Coats.

Series History:
Penn: This will be just the third meeting between Denver and Penn with each team owning a win so far. The teams have not played since back-to-back years in 2016 and 2017. In the most recent match, Penn earned a 7-0 win at home on March 5, 2017. DU earned a 6-1 win in their first meeting on March 6, 2016, in Denver.

Up Next:
The University of Denver men's tennis team will have more than week off before it next takes to the court on March 23-25 with visits to Cal Poly and Gonzaga to finish off a six-match road trip.
