DENVER – University of Denver men's tennis players
Ryoma Mishiro and
Samuel Rovai were together named the Kwik Star Summit League Doubles Peak Team of the Week for the 13
th week of the season, the Summit League announced on Tuesday.
The senior/sophomore duo went 2-0 on the weekend in doubles, starting with a 6-2 win over North Dakota on April 11, which clinched what was DU's eighth consecutive doubles point. They followed it up with a win in a tiebreak, 7-4, over Nevada the next day for their seventh win in a row as a doubles pairing. With the help of both of their performance's, Denver went on to win both duals, 7-0 and 4-1, respectively.
This is the second time in the last three weeks and the third time overall that Mishiro/Rovai have been recognized as the Summit League Doubles Peak Team of the Week. Mishiro now owns four career weekly Summit League awards, three of which came as part of a doubles team. Rovai is now a five-time honoree including his three doubles nods with Mishiro.
Denver men's players have now accounted for 13 combined weekly Summit League awards this year. All six Pioneers who have seen playing time in 2026 have earned weekly recognition from the league at least once.
The University of Denver men's tennis team closes its 2026 regular season with two Summit League road matches, first at Drake on April 17 and then at Omaha on April 19.
