DENVER – University of Denver men's tennis player
Raffaello Papajcik was named the Kwik Star Summit League Peak Performer of the Week for the 14
th and final week of the season, the Summit League announced on Tuesday.
The senior won both of his No. 1 singles matches DU's final two regular-season duals, which became his 19
th and 20
th singles wins on the year. He opened the weekend with a 6-2 6-2 win at Drake to win the dual's first singles point before adding a 6-4 3-6 6-3 win at Omaha on Sunday.
Both of his results helped lead Denver to its 6-1 and 7-0 wins, respectively, giving the Pioneers a perfect 5-0 record in Summit League play in 2026 – their final season as a member of the league – and securing Denver's seventh consecutive Summit League regular-season title.
This is Papajcik's third weekly award of the year from the Summit League and his second as the Peak Performer of the Week. He now owns seven career weekly Summit League honors.
Denver men's players have accounted for 14 combined weekly Summit League awards this year. All six Pioneers who have seen playing time in 2026 earned weekly recognition from the league at least once.
The University of Denver men's tennis team is the No. 1 seed for the 2026 Summit League Men's Tennis Championship in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and will face No. 4-seeded Illinois State in the semifinals on Friday, April 24, at 3 p.m. CT/2 p.m. MT.
