Denver Trio Turns in Strong Performances in 3K Knockout

The women’s 5K will round out the event on Saturday morning

SARASOTA, Fla. – University of Denver sophomore distance freestyle swimmers were back in action on Friday morning for the 3K knockout competitions at the 2026 USA Swimming Open Water National Championship at Nathan Bedson Park.
 
Finn Holdredge represented the Pioneers in the men's 3K knockout, while Paige Reilly and Genevieve Franklin swam the women's 3K knockout on Friday.
 
Holdredge and Reilly both advanced out of the1500m opening segment of their respective 3K knockouts on Friday morning, but were knocked out in the penultimate segment as the field was trimmed to 10.
 
Saturday morning, Reilly and Franklin will swim in the 5K women's event at 6:10 a.m. MT.
 
The event will be live streamed on the USA Swimming Network.
