Five Denver Skiers Earn 2026 All-American Awards

Seniors Mia Hunt and Christian Soevik repeat as winners
DENVER – The University of Denver skiing program had five student-athletes earn seven 2026 All-American awards at this year's national championships.
This year's NCAA Championships were held from March 11-14 in Utah, with alpine events taking place at Utah Olympic Park in Park City and the Nordic races at Solider Hollow Nordic Center in Midway.
Senior alpine skier Mia Hunt earned a pair of first-team honors in women's giant slalom and slalom, as she placed third in GS to start this year's NCAA Championships on March 11 before finishing runner-up in her final collegiate event in slalom on March 13. This is Hunt's third and fourth career All-American accolades and her first, first-team awards after she was named a second-team member twice last year as a junior.
Freshman women's Nordic skier Synne Bollingmo was also named a first-team All-American after coming in third in the Nordic 7.5-kilometer classic on March 12. It was the first podium finish by a DU women's Nordic skier at the NCAAs since Eveliina Piippo won the 5K freestyle in 2020, and it marked the second consecutive season that a Pioneer earned first-team honors in women's cross country after Lea Wenaas placed fourth in the 20K freestyle in 2025.
Sophomore Eemil Juntunen also grabbed national honors on the Nordic side, as his seventh-place finish in the men's 7.5K classic interval start gave him second-team All-America status.
In men's alpine, senior Christian Soevik was named to the All-American second team in both disciplines, as he finished ninth in giant slalom on March 11 and seventh in slalom on March 13. He owns four career All-American accolades after picking up a pair of first-team nods in 2024.
Senior Adrian Minde Hunshammer earned his first All-American honor in men's alpine giant slalom with an eighth-place finish to conclude a career season. In 2026, he compiled 10 top-10 finishes, three top-five results and earned one podium in his final campaign with the Pioneers.
All-Americans are determined based on the skiers' finish at the National Collegiate Skiing Championships (finishers 1-5 made the first team; finishers 6-10 made second team). The Pioneers' seven All-Americans were tied for the third-most in the nation this year.
The seven All-American awards bring Denver's total to 403 in program history, with 160 different student-athletes winning at least one during their time as a Pioneer.
As a team, DU placed third overall at the 2026 NCAA Championships and beat out Montana State on the final day in the 20K freestyle to claim the bronze in the overall standings.
