DENVER – The University of Denver men's basketball program has signed former Samford and Long Beach State guard Kam Martin for the 2026-27 season, head coach Tim Bergstraser announced on Saturday.
Martin has played in 64 career games, averaging 7.0 points, 1.9 rebounds and just over an assist per game. At Samford last year, Martin finished in double figures in seven games, including a season-high 17 at New Mexico State. The year prior at Long Beach State, Martin turned in 14 games with 10+ points, including 25 at San Diego.
This marks Bergstraser's sixth offseason signing, joining Oskar Wickström Stümer (April 17), Trey Cady (April 27), Baba Mbengue (May 7), CJ Hyland (May 8) and Harry Bates (May 9).

2025-26 (SOPHOMORE AT SAMFORD):
Played in all 32 games, making eight starts…Averaged 5.7 points and 2.1 rebounds in 16.8 minutes per appearance…Finished in double figures in seven games, including a season-high 17 at New Mexico State.
2024-25 (FRESHMAN AT LONG BEACH STATE):
Played in 32 games and made 24 starts…Averaged 8.4 points in 27.9 minutes per game…Scored in double figures in 14 games, including a season-high 25 against San Diego…Had a season-high seven assists against San Jose State.
BEFORE LONG BEACH STATE:
Played for Blue Ridge School in St. George Virginia… Averaged 10.9 points, 3.5 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game… Also averaged over a steal per game as a senior… Averaged 11.1 points per game and 3.2 rebounds per game as a junior at Blue Ridge…1000 point scorer in high school.
