Denver Comes Up with Full Team Performance in 3-0 Win over Tulsa

Hudson Tate, Erik Collins and Bryce Willoughby found the back of the net, while freshman keeper Alex Hohl recorded his first clean sheet
DENVER – A third-minute goal from sophomore midfielder Hudson Tate set the table for Denver's best performance of the season, culminating in a 3-0 win over Tulsa on Friday night in-front of over 1,300 fans at the University of Denver Soccer Stadium.

Tulsa:
In just his fifth career match, Tate's breakthrough was his first career goal, kickstarting the Pioneers big night in front of the target. Kieran Hanna earned the primary helper on the Tate opener, his first point of the season and the second assist of his career. Bryce Willoughby earned the secondary assist to tally his first of three points on the night.
Denver had a penalty shout on either side of halftime, both were challenged and reviewed, but both calls stood as non-penalties.
Just after the hour mark, Willoughby was set to come on as a substitute, but Denver held back the sub to let Anthony Masino take the corner kick. Masino delivered the ball just inside the penalty spot and Erik Collins was the first to get a head on it to double Denver's advantage. Masino's assist was his first career point, while Collins netted his first goal of 2026 and the third of his two-year collegiate career.
Willoughby, who made several key runs in the first half, did come on for Masino after the Collins goal, providing an instant impact in the attack. Ethan Orchard slid Willoughby in behind the Hurricane back four yet again, and this time, Willoughby beat the Tulsa keeper to make it 3-0 Denver just 75 seconds after the Collins goal.
Denver controlled the play throughout the 90 minutes, outshooting Tulsa 18-8, including 8-2 on target. The Pioneers also took seven of the nine corners on Friday night.
Notes:
Denver leveled the all-time series with Tulsa at 3-3-1, including 2-0-0 at the University of Denver Soccer Stadium.
The Pioneers' win was their 137th under head coach Jamie Franks, ranking seventh in the country during that span.
DU's win was its first as a member of the West Coast Conference.
Collins' header off Masino's corner kick was the Pioneers first set-piece tally of the campaign.
Denver improved to 118-23-20 at home since the University of Denver Soccer Stadium opened in 2009, including 83-10-10 under Jack and Sheila Weinberg Head Men's Soccer Coach Jamie Franks.
DU improved to 122-11-14 when scoring first under Franks.
Willoughby scored his 16th career goal on Friday night, keeping him 10th in Denver's Division I history.
The fifth-year senior has 42 career points, putting him 12th on Denver's DI list.
Tate's opener came at 2:39 on the clock, the 18th fastest goal to open a match in Denver's DI history, and the fastest since Keegan Kelly's opener in the Summit League Final last season.
The 1:15 between the Collins goal and Willoughby's goal tied for the 13th fastest consecutive goals in Denver's DI history.
Freshman goalkeeper Alex Hohl kept his first career clean sheet in Denver's win on Friday.
