Denver Drops Road Tilt at [6/12] Indiana

The Pioneers will end a stretch of five road matches in six on Friday when Denver travels to West Virginia
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The University of Denver men's soccer program dropped its away match at [6/18] Indiana 3-1 on Monday night at Jerry Yeagley Field at Bill Armstrong Stadium.

How it Happened:
6' Keegan Kelly nearly got in behind the Indiana back four to get the Pioneers on the board first, sliding a pass over to Bryce Willoughby in the center of the area. Kelly was flagged offside before Willoughby could knock it into the open net.
11' Alex Hohl made a kick save down to his right to stop the first shot on goal of the day. Oliver Moller-Jensen fired from the top of the box, but Hohl kept it out.
16' Easton Bogard got on the end of an Indiana corner, getting a pair of shots off from inside the box to force a double save from Hohl, his third and fourth stops of the night.
29' Indiana got on the board on its 10th shot of the night, scoring off a corner to give the home side the lead. The corner was played into the box with Nick McHenry getting to the ball first. McHenry's initial shot was blocked, but Westin Carnevale turned on the spot and fired home his effort past Hohl and the swinging leg of Grant Lund on the goal line.
29' Kelly, who scored the game-winner in the NCAA Round of 16 in 2024 the last time these two programs met, nearly provided an instant response for the Pioneers when Willoughby got free down the left and slid it back to the top of the box to Ethan Orchard. Orchard set up Kelly's shot that looked destined for the bottom corner, but the Indiana keeper made a diving save to keep it out.
43' Indiana thought it briefly had a second before halftime, but it was flagged for offside, and the call stood after video review.
56' On their first shot on target of the second half, the Hoosiers doubled their advantage with a 20-yard bomb into the top corner from Michael Adu-Gyamfi.
59' Dominic Kallay had Denver's first shot of the half, curling an effort from over 25-yards out, but Michal Mroz made his second save of the night to keep the Indiana lead at two.
70' Denver got on the board to cut the deficit in half when Will King scored off a deflection for his first of the season and the third of his Pioneer career. Willoughby tried to cross it in the box, but the ball deflected off an Indiana outstretched arm and across the box to King. King's shot was deflected in front but found its way into the corner.
71' The Pioneers looked to strike twice in quick succession when Orchard and Kyle McGowan found some joy in combination 30 yards out. Orchard got free for a shot, but it was well kept out by the Indiana keeper.
77' In search of another goal, Indiana got three good looks at the Denver net in one attacking spell. Hohl made a punching save in the middle of two balls cleared off the line by the Denver defense.
79' Indiana got its third on a volley from Moller-Jensen to restore the two-goal lead for the home side. Collins Oduro was able to get to the end line and get his service off from the Indiana left. Moller-Jensen took a couple steps away from his goal to get his foot around the volley that beat Hohl to make it 3-1.
Notes:
Freshman goalkeeer Alex Hohl made 10 saves on Monday night, the first Pioneer to record double digit stops in a single match since November 18, 2010, when Joe Willis made 10 saves in the first round of the NCAA Tournament at UC Santa Barbara.
