Kirchhoff and Grimditch Named to Sun Belt Conference Tournament Team

DENVER - University of Denver senior defender Maggie Kirchhoff (Redondo Beach, Calif.) and sophomore forward Lleane Grimditch (Boulder, Colo.) were named to the Aeropostale Sun Belt Conference Tournament Team, it was announced today by league officials. This is the second consecutive season Grimditch has earned the honor.

Kirchhoff played stellar defense throughout the tournament and helped to shut out Louisiana-Lafayette and hold it to only two shots on goal. She recorded one shot on goal during the tournament and ended the season with eight points on four goals.

Grimditch earned the honor for her effort throughout the tournament as she scored one goal and tallied five shots. Her lone goal against Louisiana-Lafayette was all Denver needed to shutout the Ragin' Cajuns, 1-0. Grimditch ended the season with 17 points on six goals and five assists.

The Pioneers were defeated by eventual tournament champion North Texas, 3-0 in the semifinal game on Thurs. November 4. They stand at 9-10-2 overall for the season.
