SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - Four members of the University of Denver women's tennis team have advanced to the Round of 32 action at the Wilson ITA Women's Central Regional Championship at the Eccles Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Utah.

Senior Marisa Mechem (Fredricksburg, Texas) dropped Lauren Pascoe (Idaho) 7-5; 6-1. Sophomore Annette Aksdal (Oslo, Norway) defeated Andrea House (Wyoming) in straight sets, 6-0; 6-2. Sophomore Lorinda Boothman (Naples, Fla.) defeated Grayce Farias (Weber State), 6-0; 6-0 to advance to the round of 32. Senior Rachel Sackmaster (Alpharetta, Ga.) posted a 7-6, 6-2 win over Anne Fagegaltier (New Mexico State) to advance to Friday's play.

In doubles, Aksdal and sophomore Kyla Iwinski (Marietta, Ga.) defeated Laura Leoni and Efrat Leopold (Idaho), 8-4, to advance to the Round of 16. Sackmaster and freshman Julia Bauregger (Kaernten, Austria) posted an 8-4 win over Courtney Anderson and Dee Dee Nelson (Utah St.) to play in Friday's round of 16.

Competition at the Wilson ITA Women's Central Regional Championship continues Friday, Oct. 20, with doubles and singles play in Salt Lake City, Utah, at the Eccles Tennis Center.
