NEW ORLEANS - The Sun Belt Conference, who is celebrating its 30th anniversary, announced the all-time men and women's tennis teams. A 26 member panel was selected to assemble the 30 men and 29 women that make up the best of the Sun Belt Conference over the last 30 years.
The University of Denver is represented with three players receiving the nod, one on the men's side and two on the women's. Magnus Ramfeldt, who played for the Pioneer men's team from 1998-2002 was named to the list as DU's all-time leader in career singles wins with 71 and tied for the all-time lead in doubles wins with 48. Ramfeldt was voted the team's Most Valuable Player in 2001 and 2002 and earned All-SBC honors in 2002.
Yanick Dullens and Suzana Maksovic are the two DU women on the list. As a doubles team in 2004-05, Maksovic and Dullens led DU to their first NCAA Doubles Championships by posting a 25-10 overall record and a 14-3 record in the No. 1 doubles position. Dullens, who played from 2001-05, is the school's all-time leader in doubles wins with 83 and she also holds the single season record for doubles wins with 30 in the 2003-04 season. Dullens also holds the school record for most doubles and singles wins in NCAA Division I play. A three-time All-Sun Belt Conference honoree, Dullens was also named SBC Female Athlete of the Year following her senior campaign.
Maksovic is currently fourth on the Pioneer all-time doubles wins list. In 2004, Maksovic, who boasted a .944 winning percentage, earned All-SBC honors by helping her team to their first SBC championship. As Denver's lone senior this season, Maksovic leads the No. 49 Pioneers playing at No. 1 singles and currently holds a 2006 singles record of 9-5.
