No. 62 Pioneers Defeat Eastern Washington 4-0

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The No. 62 University of Denver men's tennis team opened its spring dual season with a 4-0 win last night over Eastern Washington in Colorado Springs. The match was shortened due to a late mid-week start at the Air Force Academy last night.

DU captured the doubles point with wins from Adam Holmstrom (Eskilstuna, Sweden) and Niklas Persson (Stockholm, Sweden) at No. 1 and Timo Kienle (Helsingborg, Sweden) and Kalle Rosen at No. 2.

Holmstrom, Kienle and Ben Althaus (Saarbrucken, Germany) completed the 4-0 win with singles wins at No. 1, No. 3 and No. 4, respectively.

The Pioneers return to action on Saturday, Jan. 27 with a match against No. 34 Minnesota. The Golden Gophers are coached by former DU head coach Geoff Young.
