No. 35 Pioneers Down North Florida, 4-3

TAMPA, Fla. - The No. 35 University of Denver won four of six singles matches to earn a hard-fought 4-3 win over North Florida in women's tennis action on Saturday at the USF Tennis Complex in Tampa. DU improved to 10-6 overall with the win, while North Florida fell to 13-5.

After being swept in three doubles matches, the Pioneers won four of six singles matches to claim the 4-3 win. Sophomore Annette Aksdal (Oslo, Norway), freshman Ute Schnoy (Altenstadt, Germany), freshman Julia Bauregger (Kaernten, Austria) and senior Rachel Sackmaster (Alpharetta, Ga.) each won singles matches for the Pioneers, who are playing at their highest ranking in school history.

"This team has won many close matches this season," DU head coach Amy Jensen said. "It just goes to show how much they want to win and how hard they are willing to fight for it!"

The Pioneers host in-state rival Colorado on April 6.
