Denver Rolls by Fresno State, 18-1

FRESNO, Calif. University of Denver women’s lacrosse senior midfielder Karen Morton (Adelaide, Australia) scored a hat trick with two assists, helping the Pioneers roll by Fresno State 18-1 on Monday afternoon.

 

Sophomore midfielder Tulley Stapp (Denver, Colo.) added two goals and an assists against the Bulldogs, while freshman midfielder Kaiti Delaney (Denver, Colo.) had a hat trick.

 

Senior attacker Steph Coyne (Baltimore, Md.), junior midfielder Lexi Sanders (Greenwood Village, Colo.) and freshman midfielder Lauren Ciccomascolo (Ladera Ranch, Calif.) each had a goal and two assists.

 

Coyne is now tied for 10th in NCAA history with 128 career assists.

 

The Pioneers (10-6, 4-2 MPSF) opened the game with five goals in the first five minutes before Fresno State (0-13, 0-6 MPSF) got on the board with 22:36 remaining in the first half.

 

Denver continued its offensive onslaught, closing out the half with a 13-1 lead and scoring the game’s only five goals after the break.

 

The Pioneers enjoy a week off before heading to the MPSF Tournament in Stanford, Calif., on April 23-26.
