DENVER - No. 63 Denver improved to 5-0 with a 6-1 win over Sun Belt Conference rival Middle Tennessee. DU won the doubles point and five singles matches to claim the No. 57 Blue Raiders.
"We had a very complete match today," DU head coach Danny Westerman said. "I was very happy with Aaron Wicker stepping in at No. 6 singles and getting a win in his first-ever dual match. We are looking forward to an intense environment against New Mexico tomorrow."
Wicker took advantage of his first start and defeated Kyle Wishing 6-2, 6-4. Also posting singles wins for Denver were Fabio Biasion (Velbert, Germany), Enej Bonin (Kopar, Slovenia), Jens Vorkefeld (Ostercappeln, Germany) and Andrew Landwerlen (Las Cruces, N.M.).
DU won the doubles point by claiming wins at No. 1 (Landwerlen and David Simson) and No. 2 (Weihs and Vorkefeld.
DU plays New Mexico tomorrow at 11 a.m.
